The pulses of visible light break down any melanin that is responsible for pigmentation in the skin, the body absorbs the pigment reducing any age spots, freckles or pigment in the skin.
This works in the same way when treating any areas of redness or thread veins, the visible light hits the areas of high hemoglobin and is absorbed creating a heat which damages the vessels to make them less visible.
